Shelby County Sheriff's Office is seeking an experienced Human Resources Department Management representative to oversee payroll, personnel functions, and budget control under strategic direction. The role may involve labor relations and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

The incumbent will supervise a HR team and coordinate recruitment, onboarding, and policy development for a large public safety organization. Strong leadership and confidentiality are essential.

Competenze

• Five (5) years' experience in a professional/managerial level of human resources.
• Bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, human resources or closely related field; OR equivalent combination of education/experience.
• Managerial experience in human resources for a law enforcement agency preferred.
• Professional certification from SHRM or HR certification institute preferred.

Mansioni

• Oversee payroll and personnel functions including applicant hiring, orientation, training, promotions, classifications, discipline, termination and retirement, as well as benefits, on-the-job injuries, leave records, and payroll.
• Develop and interpret HR policy and advise staff on administrative procedures.
• Prepare, monitor, and control the assigned Personnel Control Budget.
• Prepare reports to assist administration and managers in personnel/resource management.
• Advise staff on employment policies and procedure priorities; provide HR-related technical assistance.
