Job summary

McDowell County Emergency Services in North Carolina is seeking a Telecommunicator to receive, prioritize, process, and disseminate emergency and non-emergency calls while delivering professional customer service. Training is provided and advancement paths exist through Telecommunicator levels.

Qualifications

• Basic computer and keyboarding skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and processing emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
• Providing emergency communications support for EMS, Law Enforcement, and Fire/Rescue services.
• Performing emergency and non-emergency radio communications.
• Utilizing CAD and other communications technologies.
• Obtaining and communicating accurate information during incidents.
• Providing exceptional customer service during routine and emergency situations.
• Participating in required training, certifications, and professional development.
• Performing public safety support functions and other duties as assigned.
