Under direct/indirect supervision, the Public Safety Dispatcher (I) performs a full range of telephone operational duties in a 24-hour facility. Receives and records emergency and routine business calls; processes and prioritizes incoming calls for police, security, and MCHS.
Willingness and/or ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends; work on an on-call basis, work overtime; work irregular duty assignments; work under undesirable and hazardous conditions; conform to department grooming standards; pass a personal background investigation, medical physical, drug screen, psychiatric examination, dispatch aptitude test, and oral interview; work alone; attend educational sessions as required; travel out of town for one day or more.
