Job summary

Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority (MVRDA) seeks a dedicated supervisor to oversee PSAP operations county-wide. This role includes supervising Telecommunicators and Call Taker staff, coordinating training, and ensuring policy adherence and confidentiality.

The position requires shift work, overtime, and strict deadlines. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in public safety with CAD/911 software and NCIC experience, plus supervisory exposure.

Qualifications

  • 2 years experience in public safety area, including 2 years experience in CAD/911 protocol software
  • 2 years hands-on experience with NCIC
  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Certification within 6 months of hire date and valid NM Driver’s License or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Prepare schedule, including leave approvals, for Telecommunicators and Call Taker personnel to ensure adequate staffing.
  • Monitors training progress of trainees; provide supervision and evaluation.
  • Provide input for staff retention and training programs; assist in development of new training policies.
  • Maintain facility/equipment status with IT; perform periodic functionality tests.
  • Plan, organize and review the work of subordinates.
  • Maintain confidentiality of duty- and personnel-related information.
  • Perform call-taking and dispatch tasks; stay proficient with 911 operations.
