Job summary

Hancock County 911 in Indiana seeks a Public Safety Systems Program Manager to plan, coordinate, and maintain critical public safety communications infrastructure and related technology across police, fire, and EMS agencies.

The role serves as primary liaison between Hancock County 911, County IT, vendors, and partner organizations; requires on-call readiness and the ability to supervise multiple projects and emergency operations.

Qualifications

• Citizen of the United States.
• 22+ years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Valid driver’s license.
• No felony convictions; certain misdemeanors may disqualify.
• Experience with public safety communications technology or emergency services systems preferred.
• Working knowledge of CAD, RMS, radio systems, interoperability platforms.
• Ability to coordinate with vendors, agencies, and County departments.
• Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work irregular and extended hours during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with County IT, IPSC, DPSC, vendors and partner agencies on public safety systems.
• Manage and maintain radio communications systems and related infrastructure.
• Support operational readiness and maintenance of mission-critical systems.
• Act as technical contact for CAD, RMS, ProQA, Locution, and other platforms.
• Manage Mobile Data Computers and related public safety equipment.
• Assist with system upgrade projects and infrastructure improvements.
• Oversee countywide cameras, access control, and security systems (where applicable).
• Coordinate interoperability and system reliability with local agencies.
• Maintain inventories and records for 911 and homeland security systems.
• Identify grants/funding opportunities and assist with FOIA/records requests.
• Provide advisory support to public safety agencies as needed.
• Serve on a 24-hour on-call basis for outages and emergencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
