Job summary

Towson University seeks a Communications Specialist for the Operations Division to develop, manage, and coordinate division content and communications.

The role emphasizes messaging for Public Safety, divisional projects, and engagement across campus. Telework up to two days per week is possible after probation; a Bachelor's and three years of experience in marketing/communications are preferred. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and three years of professional work experience in marketing/communications, project management or outreach/engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to identify audience needs and create engaging content for multiple mediums and channels.
• Experience managing social media platforms, content management, and clear messaging with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, update and manage content for Campus Operations Division webpages and communications.
• Highlight divisional news to build awareness and engage the university community.
• Coordinate timely writing, editing and distribution of Operations messages via email and TU Today.
• Create engaging content for Division social channels and monitor effectiveness of communications.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to support compliance and alignment with divisional plans.
• Prepare annual Operations division report with metrics and initiatives.
• Prepare remarks and presentations for senior leadership.
• Undertake special projects as assigned.
