Job summary

Commonwealth Of Pennsylvania, Department of Labor & Industry, Bureau of Occupational and Industrial Safety invites applications for a Certification, Accreditation and Licensing Inspector Trainee. You will learn inspection methods, assist with bedding, upholstery, and related records inspections, and gain hands-on experience under guidance from seasoned staff to support statewide safety goals.

This full-time, home-headquartered role in PA offers 8:00 AM–4:00 PM work hours, a starting salary range

Qualifications

• One year of experience in building maintenance or construction, workplace safety or inspection, retail sales, or customer service; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist with inspections of bedding, upholstery, stuffed toys, and related records to assess compliance
• Assist in conducting ultraviolet device testing and analyze results for disinfection processes
• Assist with inspections of asbestos and lead abatement sites and take corrective actions when necessary
• Assist in auditing training providers handling asbestos and lead abatement programs
• Respond to public inquiries and interpret regulations for contractors and training providers
• Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain daily and monthly activity logs
