Job summary

St. Mary's County Government seeks an IT/Communications Manager for the 911 Center to oversee CAD, ProQA, mobile apps, and interfaces, ensuring data integrity and seamless transfers.

You will train personnel on CAD operations and coordinate with IT, vendors, and allied agencies to implement enhancements and policy updates. The role includes performing Public Safety Dispatcher duties as needed, maintaining certifications, and supporting emergency operations with a focus on reliability and zero

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred with related professional experience.
• Five years or more in a public safety or IT-enabled role or equivalent education.
• Experience managing a Public Safety Access Point (PSAP) or equivalent systems preferred.
• Certifications in CPR and NENA programs within defined timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and management of the CAD system, mobile and webview apps, data archiving, and analytics.
• Serve as primary liaison with Command staff for system changes and operational needs.
• Process input on dispatch protocols and unit updates for multiple public safety agencies.
• Ensure training plans are executed and access within CAD systems is properly managed.
• Coordinate with IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders on enhancements and upgrades.
