Job summary

The Frick Pittsburgh is seeking a part-time Public Programming Associate to help implement the annual slate of lectures, tours, and events. This on-call role supports daytime and evening programs, including weekends, with an emphasis on high-quality visitor experiences.

Responsibilities include day-of support, logistics, liaison work with vendors, and post-program evaluation in a dynamic museum setting, reporting to the Manager of Public Programming.

Qualifications

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to adapt to changing situations in real time.
  • Engaging communicator with enthusiasm, energy, flexibility and adaptability who enjoys working collaboratively.
  • Professional, reliable, punctual and willing to work a flexible schedule with minimum monthly availability.
  • Strong interest in art, history and/or museum work.
  • Ability to address potentially challenging interactions with empathy.
  • Ability to operate with little direct supervision to create exceptional visitor-centered experiences.
  • Ability to walk/stand for extended periods and lift 30 lbs, move chairs/tables as needed.
  • Act 33/34 clearance; FBI background fingerprinting clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a day-of support person for public programs at the Frick.
  • Support program logistics immediately before, during and after a program to ensure a high-quality visitor experience.
  • With approval from the Manager of Public Programming, assist with day-of support for performance programs.
  • Serve as a liaison for program vendors, speakers, or performers.
  • Provide consistent, professional customer service to visitors and attendees.
  • Direct visitors and answer questions about each program or performance.
  • Assist with setup, teardown or cleanup.
  • Support LVE responsibilities within annual site-wide events like Summer Fridays and Winterfest.
  • Assist staff in navigating last-minute changes and find solutions to maintain program integrity.
  • Assist with pre-program preparation and post-program evaluation.
