Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, a leading international law firm, seeks a Business Development Manager for the Marketing department in Washington, DC. The role supports the Lobbying & Public Policy practice, reports to the Director of Business Development, and offers hybrid work in the Washington, DC office.

Responsibilities include coordinating action plans, developing marketing materials, managing events and sponsorships, and driving cross-practice initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years of people or project management responsibility and at least two years of related business development or marketing experience.
• Experience working on Capitol Hill, the executive branch or a lobbying role is preferred.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing practice group business and action plans by coordinating and tracking the group’s efforts.
• Monitor and track plan implementation to meet deadlines and commitments.
• Identify conferences, seminars, forums, sponsorships, speaking and writing opportunities aligned with practice goals.
• Collaborate with marketing to develop brochures, ads, newsletters, and client mailings at the practice level.
• Coordinate internal and external practice events with marketing support.
• Support sponsorships, events, and memberships to develop the practice.
