Job summary

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP invites a Practice Management Intern to join its Client Value & Practice Management team in Washington, DC for Fall 2026. This part-time internship reports to the Director of Practice Management and offers mentorship and exposure to the behind-the-scenes operations of a lobbying and law firm.

Responsibilities include research, data reporting, content updates, onboarding/offboarding support, and calendar management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Proficiency with Windows and MS Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support practice management projects with research, data, reports and charts.
• Maintain accurate tracking charts and recruiting lists.
• Update content for internal website.
• Assist onboarding and offboarding of team members.
• Format and proofread internal communications and presentations.
• Maintain team calendar and schedules.
• Assist with weekly and monthly reporting tasks.
• Support other operational/administrative duties as assigned.
