Job summary

The City of Madison seeks a Parking Enforcement Officer to uphold parking ordinances within the Parking Division. You will patrol on foot or by vehicle, addressing overtime violations, improper parking, and permit misuse while guiding the public with clear information.

You will conduct recordkeeping, respond to dispatches, and assist with special events. A valid driver's license, flexible schedule, and TIME certification eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• One year of direct public contact experience.
• Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field.
• Familiarity with parking regulations and Microsoft Office/SharePoint.

Responsibilities

• Issue parking citations and enforce regulations.
• Impound vehicles as required.
• Assist with disabled parking permit investigations and possible stolen vehicle checks.
• Respond to radio dispatch calls regarding parking violations and complaints.
• Enter, retrieve, and organize vehicle registration information.
• Testify in court on parking issues or related fraud cases.
• Maintain City vehicles used for daily assignments; report mechanical issues.
