Job summary

The City of Madison is seeking a Parking Enforcement Officer to enforce parking regulations, issue citations, and assist the public with information and guidance. You will work under supervision, taking appropriate enforcement actions while addressing overtime and unauthorized parking.

Responsibilities include recordkeeping, responding to complaints, and supporting daily operations. A valid driver's license and a flexible schedule (days/evenings/nights/Special Events) are required; background

Qualifications

One year of direct public contact communicating or explaining organizational policies and procedures to the general public.
Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice or a closely related field (or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with principles, practices, and terminology applicable to enforcing parking regulations and using basic office software.

Responsibilities

Issue parking citations and address related enforcement actions.
Impound vehicles as required and assist with disabled parking permit investigations.
Respond to radio dispatch calls regarding parking violations and parking complaints.
