Job summary

City of New York’s Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks an Executive Director for an 18-month public service tour to lead the PIT Crew Senior Fellows. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, product managers, researchers, policy experts, and city staff to transform problem statements into working, user-centered products that deliver measurable improvements for New Yorkers.

The role is hands-on and strategic, requiring building a high-performing team, setting modern practice

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and five years of satisfactory full-time experience related to projects and policies.
• Equivalent education/experience may satisfy the requirement if approved by the appointing authority.

Responsibilities

• Build and lead a high-performing team focused on delivering measurable impact for New Yorkers.
• Establish modern best practices for your discipline and promote adoption.
• Manage and mentor talent to ensure positive and meaningful service to the City.
• Foster a culture of speed, quality, pragmatism, and public service.
• Own and drive the team’s high-level roadmap and scope new projects.
• Ensure product launches meet high standards of usability, accessibility, security, and privacy.
• Collaborate across stakeholders including OTI, City Hall, philanthropic partners, and other City agencies.
• Oversee special projects and initiatives as assigned.

Education
