Job summary

The City of Grand Haven seeks an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the City’s HR department and its contracted agencies. You will guide recruitment, compensation, benefits, risk management, policy development, internal controls, and reporting to City leadership.

As chief labor negotiator, you will administer collective bargaining agreements and ensure compliance with state and federal laws, HIPAA, FMLA, and ADA while maintaining productive employee relations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, labor relations, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, selection, and disciplinary processes for City employees.
• Manage compensation, benefits programs, and risk management.
• Negotiate labor agreements as chief union negotiator.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws; administer EEO, HIPAA, FMLA, ADA.
