Job summary

The City of Vernon offers an internship program in the Human Resources Department for a Management Intern. This part-time, temporary assignment provides hands-on experience with data analysis, event coordination, and administrative support under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; must be at least 18.
• Currently enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program or recently graduated.
• Temporary appointment with variable hours; up to 1,000 hours per fiscal year.
• Transcripts or degree must be submitted with application.

Responsibilities

• Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data for studies and projects.
• Prepares written reports on findings and recommendations.
• Assists in surveys and research on municipal policies and services.
• Prepares charts, tables, spreadsheets, flyers, forms, and diagrams.
• Maintains applicable records and files.
• Performs administrative and clerical duties.
• May assist with coordination of special events.
• Interacts with community, staff, officials, and businesses.
