Job summary

Auburn University’s Department of History seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in public history focusing on working with communities in the post-1945 United States. The successful candidate will develop upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses and contribute to Auburn’s core history curriculum, with in-person instruction.

Ph.D. in History or a related field is required; outstanding ABDs will be considered with completion expected before August 16, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Develop upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in area of specialty.
• Contribute to Auburn’s core history curriculum and teach in-person; occasionally contribute to general upper-level U.S. curriculum.
