Grand Traverse County seeks a Supervisor of Prevention and Community Health to oversee immunization, infectious disease, HIV/STD, and reproductive health services. You will mentor staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive program evaluation under the Health Department and County leadership.

The role emphasizes clinical leadership for nursing staff, budgets, and grants, with potential irregular hours and travel in a personal vehicle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related clinical field required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Licensure as Registered Nurse in Michigan or Nurse Practitioner/Physician’s Assistant in Michigan.
• 2–4 years progressively responsible, related experience.
• 2 years supervisory experience in health care environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises public health staff, including interviewing, training, evaluating performance.
• Plans and administers health service and outreach programs.
• Reviews client eligibility and conducts assessments for program participation.
• Ensures program compliance with policies and accreditation standards.
• Develops budgets, monitors expenditures, and prepares grant reports.
• Represents the county in meetings and community events.
