Job summary

The City of Midland is seeking a Supervising Public Health Nurse to oversee clinical programs and public health initiatives. You will schedule program activities, develop policies, prepare reports, and respond to disease reports and outbreaks.

Responsibilities include staffing, procurement, grant reporting, and supervision of the Epidemiology/Surveillance Program. You will administer the EMR system, immunize citizens, and lead community education efforts and stakeholder partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and RN license required.
• 10 years RN experience with 3–5 years of management experience.
• CPR certification and exposure to public health practice.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel, assign tasks, and develop program policies and procedures.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, training, evaluations, and resource management.
• Lead Epidemiology/Surveillance and monitor notifiable diseases and outbreaks.
• Administer the electronic medical records system and ensure data integrity.
• Manage clinical resources, supplies, and grant applications/reports.
• Participate in Public Health Preparedness Team and stockpile coordination.
• Immunize citizens and provide vaccine counseling and side-effect information.
• Perform disease intervention, surveillance and prevention activities.
• Develop community health education programs and partnerships with stakeholders.
• Provide consultation, training, and technical assistance to providers and community.
