Job summary

Grand Traverse County is seeking a Supervisor of Prevention and Community Health to oversee staff and public health programs focused on immunizations, disease control, HIV/STD, and reproductive health services.

The ideal candidate has a nursing background and licensure in Michigan, with leadership, budgeting, and policy implementation skills. This role may require irregular hours and travel, and reports to the Director of Prevention and Community Health.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or related clinical field required.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Two to four years of progressively responsible, directly related experience required.
• Two years supervisory experience in a health care environment preferred.
• Experience with Maternal, Child, and Adolescent Health and Title X Family Planning beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Supervises designated public health staff, including interviewing, training, and evaluating performance.
• Plans and administers health service and community outreach programs within the assigned area.
• Reviews eligibility for participation and conducts client assessments to determine needs.
• Monitors policy compliance, prepares for evaluations, and develops corrective action plans.
• Prepares and monitors program budgets, purchases supplies, and coordinates grant reporting.
