Job summary

City of Midland, Texas seeks a Senior Public Health Nurse Supervisor to oversee public health nursing programs and epidemiology activities. You will supervise staff, develop policies, prepare required reports, and respond to disease outbreaks, while maintaining EMR systems and clinical resources.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in nursing, Texas RN licensure, CPR, and 10 years as an RN with 3–5 years in management. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the city may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing and RN licensure; 10 years as RN with 3–5 years of management experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel; assign tasks and activities; develop and update programs; prepare reports; communicate with community leaders.
• Lead Epidemiology/Surveillance Program; monitor reports of notifiable conditions; educate providers and community; enter disease reports into NEDSS.
• Administer the electronic medical records system and manage clinical resources and supplies.
• Assist Health Services Manager with grant applications and reporting; participate in staff training and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate with Public Health Preparedness Team and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
