Job summary

Midland Health in Midland, TX seeks a Clinical Manager focused on patient safety to oversee NICU and Women’s & Children’s Services. You will supervise daily operations, develop staff, and ensure high-quality care in compliance with state and federal laws.

The role combines clinical leadership with program management, including NICU education and quality initiatives, reporting to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services; a BSN and TX RN license are required.

Qualifications

• BSN required; if not, enrolled in BSN with graduation within 6 months.
• Texas RN license required.
• Specialty certification in NICU/field preferred (e.g., NIC, LRN).
• BLS required on hire; NRP within 6 months; STABLE courses encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily operations of assigned areas (staffing, throughput, patient concerns, room assignments, data collection).
• Lead communication, growth and development for span of control.
• Conduct quality management audits and analyze data to drive improvements.
• Implement corrective actions related to employee performance.
• Foster communication and stakeholder relationships through shared decision making.
• Demonstrate knowledge of healthcare environment and quality improvement metrics.
• Allocate 60% of time to NICU, Lactation and Child Birth Education under Clinical Manager duties.
• Allocate 40% of time to Program management.
• Report to the Director of Women’s & Children’s Services.
• Chair neonatal QAPI multidisciplinary monthly meetings.
