Job summary

The NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (BPHC) is seeking a City Research Scientist, L3/Program Implementation Lead to help plan, implement, and monitor new public health initiatives across eight Sexual Health Clinics in NYC.

You will coordinate cross-department efforts, design workflows, train staff, and evaluate outcomes to improve sexual health services for New Yorkers. Strong leadership in implementation science is essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate field (public health or related science).
• Doctorate with relevant field and supervisory/research experience (for Level II).
• Experience in program implementation or operational rollout in public health.
• Ability to build workflows, timelines, and tracking tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate planning for new programs, grant activities, services, initiatives, and major changes to clinic operations.
• Collaborate with cross departmental teams to assess needs, develop implementation plans, create timelines, and design workflows and tracking tools.
• Organize and support facilitation of training, communications, and other readiness activities required to successfully implement new initiatives.
• Monitor implementation progress and proactively identify, escalate, and resolve operational barriers.
• Support the transition of new initiatives into routine clinic workflows and ongoing monitoring structures.
• Evaluate methods, procedures, and data obtained from implementation to assess program outcomes.
• Disseminate results of program evaluation through abstracts, webinars, presentations, manuscripts or other relevant products.
• Conduct and contribute to evaluation activities, including data collection, performance tracking, and reporting of outcomes.
• Participate in the Division of Disease Control’s Mentorship Program, serving as a mentor to individuals interested in program implementation
