Thurston County in Olympia, WA, is seeking a Nurse Manager to lead the Disease Control & Prevention Division and oversee a team of about 10 staff. The role emphasizes strategic planning, fiscal oversight, and staff development to advance public health programs addressing communicable diseases and STIs.

You will manage budgets and grants, navigate contracts, and ensure compliance while fostering partnerships with federal, state, and local agencies to protect community health.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related advanced nursing education.
• Licensed as Washington State Registered Nurse.
• Five years of professional environmental work experience including budget preparation and program planning and implementation.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience of nursing staff.

Mansioni

• Provide clinical guidance to nurse and disease investigator team on diseases such as TB and STIs.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate public health nursing programs based on community needs and evidence-based practices.
• Ensure adherence to clinical protocols, regulations, and nursing standards.
• Monitor expenditures and program performance against the approved budget and cost-effectiveness standards.
• Manage grant and contract management including grant applications and reporting.
• Supervise staff, set goals, provide training, and evaluate performance.
