Job summary

The Cuyahoga County Board of Health is hiring a Public Health Nurse in Parma, Ohio. You will provide nursing care in clinic, community, or school settings, conduct screenings and vaccinations, and educate clients on health and prevention.

This role requires an Ohio RN license, CPR certification, and at least one year of related nursing experience. Responsibilities include case management, home visits, referrals, and coordination with external partners to support program goals.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in nursing is required.
• Valid Ohio RN license and current CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year of related nursing experience.
• Valid driver's license and insurance at appointment.
• HIPAA knowledge and confidentiality of health information.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Proficiency with PC hardware, software, and email.
• Experience with databases and data reporting.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor healthcare needs and provide nursing care in clinic, community, or school settings.
• Administer screenings and vaccinations; educate clients about processes and results.
• Provide case management, home visits, counseling, needs assessment, and referrals.
• Conduct environmental assessments to ensure safe healthcare delivery.
• Collaborate with partners and educate providers about agency programs.
• Coordinate client enrollment into agency programs and respond to inquiries.
• Notify stakeholders about communicable diseases and environmental concerns.
• Document interactions and submit required reports.
• Participate in public health emergency activities and coordinate services.
