Merieux NutriSciences in Stone Mountain, GA is seeking a Microbiologist 2 to prepare samples, analyze them, and maintain documentation to facilitate testing procedures. The role requires a HS Diploma and 1+ year of relevant experience, with familiarity in LIMS and safety policies.

The incumbent will perform routine microbiology tasks, maintain equipment and materials, and support quality improvement efforts in a laboratory setting. Schedule includes typical 40-hour weeks with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma and 1+ year relevant work experience.
• Basic knowledge of science to perform testing procedures accurately.
• Basic computer skills to enter testing data and results.

Responsabilités

• Prepare samples for analysis by recording, weighing, and blending.
• Label plates to track client and sample numbers.
• Pipette samples into tubes or plates according to the analysis process.
• Pour agar into plates or tubes to start growth.
• Incubate plates at specified times and temperatures.
• Prepare media and broth for pathogen testing as required.
• Maintain knowledge of LIMS for job responsibilities.
• Set up equipment and materials needed for analysis.
• Read plates/tubes to determine organism counts in samples.
• Support quality and continuous improvement processes.
