Job summary

Arizona Department of Health Services in Phoenix is seeking a Health Program Manager 1 to oversee the application process for marijuana facility, dispensary and lab agents, coordinating with DPS and ensuring timely background checks.

The role requires knowledge of Adult-Use and Medical Marijuana rules, collaboration with IT, and the ability to draft notices, provide technical assistance, and support the legal liaison.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public health or related field.
• Experience in customer service, inspections, and investigations.
• Knowledge of public health policies, statutes, and rules.
• Ability to work with IT during system testing and development.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily application processing of marijuana agent applications and track deficiencies.
• Outreach to ensure applications are complete and compliant.
• Draft and finalize Notices of Denial and Withdrawals for programs.
• Process fingerprint cards for transfer to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
• Collaborate with IT to troubleshoot issues, perform testing, and create user materials.
• Assist the Legal liaison, including drafting Statements of Deficiencies and testifying at hearings.
• Other duties as assigned (typically 5% - 10%).
