Job summary

The Boston Public Health Commission seeks a Grants Development Director to lead external grant and contract funding initiatives. You will guide proposal development, budget creation, and compliance across BPHC programs, coordinating with PIs, finance, and leadership.

You will supervise staff, provide technical assistance, and advance anti-racism and health equity through strategic grant activity and renewals, including key reporting and award management responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn public health roles addressing racism and health equity.
• Commitment to health equity and racial justice.
• Master’s or graduate degree in public health or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of grants development or related field; leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess funding opportunities across federal, state, local, and private sectors.
• Lead complex and high-priority grant applications with program teams.
• Develop project approaches, budgets, and evaluation plans for grants.
• Write, edit, and review grant narratives and supporting materials.
• Coordinate grant budgets and narratives with Finance.
• Ensure timely submission and maintain sponsor compliance.
• Provide leadership and training to staff on grant development.
