Job summary

The Department of State Health Services in Austin seeks a Section Programs and Strategic Initiatives Coordinator to lead cross-program coordination, IRB management, and data analytics for the Environmental Epidemiology and Disease Registries Section.

You will steer grant administration, contracts, legislative requests, and complex program priorities, with collaboration across FCMB, CHI Division, and external partners, ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating or managing complex projects involving multiple programs, stakeholders, or organizational units.
• Experience in public health, healthcare, research, government administration, grants management, program management, or a closely related field.
• Experience developing, coordinating, reviewing, or monitoring grants, contracts, research projects, legislative assignments, or other complex program activities.
• Experience preparing or reviewing executive, legislative, research, grant, policy, program, or technical documentation.
• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university; graduate-level education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsibilities include coordinating Section-wide IRB activities and data initiatives, ensuring approvals and documentation are current.
• Lead and coordinate for Section-wide grants, contracts, legislative assignments, and cross-program priorities.
• Support responses to legislative and executive requests, briefing materials, and data requests.
• Assist with development, administration, amendment, and monitoring of Section contracts and procurement activities.
• Provide project coordination and analytic support for cross-program epidemiologic and data initiatives.
