The Bureau of Environmental Surveillance and Policy (BESP) in the NYC Health Department seeks a GIS Analyst to lead field data collection tooling, train staff, and ensure data quality across multiple bureaus. You will work with ArcGIS Online/Pro, Survey123, and Field Maps, and automate workflows with ArcPy.

Reporting to the GIS Director, the role emphasizes data-driven mapping, spatial analysis, and cross-bureau collaboration to support healthy environments for all New Yorkers.

Formación

• For Assignment Level I, a master's degree in physical, biological, environmental sciences or public health.
• For higher levels, a doctorate with supervisory/administrative or research experience; or a master's with three years of responsible experience.
• Probationary period of one year; appointments reflect City policies; public sector experience considered a plus.

Responsabilidades

• Build and maintain Survey123 forms and Field Maps for field data collection.
• Train field staff on Survey123, Field Maps, and related tools.
• Review incoming field data for accuracy and completeness.
• Support GIS analysis and mapping using ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro.
• Automate GIS workflows with Python scripts, including ArcPy.
• Maintain and troubleshoot GIS tools and data across the ArcGIS platform.
