Job summary

Maricopa County Department of Public Health is seeking an Epidemiologist to analyze vaccine-preventable disease data and communicate findings to inform public health action. You will compile data, monitor immunization trends, and create reports and visualizations to support data-driven strategies.

The role is a contract position with an anticipated end date of June 30, 2027, with a hybrid work schedule and comprehensive benefits. A Master’s degree in epidemiology or biostatistics is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related public health field
• An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
• Skilled in analysis software such as R or SAS

Responsibilities

• Conduct epidemiologic analyses of vaccine-preventable disease data to monitor disease trends and identify populations or areas of increased risk
• Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, maps, and other data products to communicate findings and support data-driven public health actions
• Analyze vaccination coverage and school immunization data to identify trends, disparities, and potential gaps in vaccination
• Collaborate with epidemiologists, Community Wellness and Health staff, and other internal and external partners to provide accurate and timely epidemiologic information
• Support cooperative agreement activities, performance measures, and grant deliverables through data analysis, reporting, and evaluation activities
