Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license.
• BS in environmental health, public health, environmental science with 30 science/math credits and 2 years’ environmental health experience.
• Obtain/Maintain Certification as Environmental Health Professional within 6 months of probation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect regulated facilities for compliance with Florida statutes, Florida Administrative Code and Sarasota County Code requirements.
• Perform water well construction permitting inspections and enter data into district databases.
• Provide field and staff support for Environmental Health programs and enforcement procedures.
• Investigate sanitary nuisance complaints and ensure corrective action per Florida statute.
• Travel within Sarasota County to perform inspections and field work and report to Environmental Manager.
