Job summary

Good Neighbor Community Health Center seeks an Emergency Response Coordinator to lead Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) activities and the district's Emergency Response Plan. You will represent the organization in community and state meetings and coordinate with stakeholders to strengthen disaster readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in Emergency Management or related field.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to adapt to flexible work environments.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate an annual risk assessment including hazard vulnerability assessment (HVA)/risk analysis to determine ECDHD’s risk for disasters.
  • Develop and implement procedures and protocols to execute public health emergency functions.
  • Coordinate, participate in, and facilitate training for community stakeholders (fire, police, EMS, hospital) and update COOP and ERP.
  • Identify potential disease outbreaks within the jurisdiction with designated staff.
  • Manage emergency preparedness grant and budget monitoring; complete required reports to NE DHHS.
  • Coordinate with community partners to include vulnerable populations in public health emergency response plans.
  • Collaborate with community, regional and state preparedness partners to identify roles and responsibilities.
  • Participate in preparedness planning meetings and exercises with local health departments and partners.
  • Respond to public inquiries on emergency preparedness issues and provide information and education.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
