Job summary

The Boston Public Health Commission seeks a Senior Planner to lead and coordinate emergency planning and preparedness across OPHP. You will collaborate with BPHC staff, City agencies, and external partners to ensure plans are integrated, current, and responsive to Boston residents.

Qualifications

• Experience with collaborative planning and emergency or operational plans.
• Proven project management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities.
• Strong written, verbal, organizational and facilitation abilities.
• Knowledge of Public Health Emergency Preparedness and emergency management concepts.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate collaborative emergency planning across OPHP and BPHC.
• Maintain working knowledge of City and partner emergency plans and coalitions.
• Coordinate development, review, maintenance, and integration of emergency plans.
• Manage COOP, recovery, Medical Countermeasures/dispensing, and hazard planning activities.
• Support hazard vulnerability assessments and incorporate lessons learned.
• Coordinate planning with City agencies, healthcare, community partners, and academia.
• Support training and exercises, including after-action reviews and improvements.
• Represent OPHP at meetings, conferences, and events as needed.
