The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a City Research Scientist to lead the design and development of data-driven health communication products and dashboards. You will collaborate with the Unified Data Experience team to translate public health needs into scalable web-based solutions.

Ideal candidates bring mastery in data visualization, health literacy, and user-centered design, with strong leadership and research skills.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in physical, biological, environmental science or public health required.
• PhD in appropriate field preferred for advancement.
• Experience building data communication products and dashboards is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead research and development of data communication products and dashboards for public health.
• Collaborate with cross-agency teams to turn needs into prototypes and products.
• Guide junior developers and UX designers to deliver accessible, user-centered solutions.
