Job summary

The NYC Health Department seeks a Health Product Development & Engineering Lead to steer the UDX platform, selecting technologies and architectures to support innovative data products.

You will collaborate on research and design, turn needs into prototypes, mentor junior developers and UX designers, and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders. The role emphasizes public health data visualization and accessibility, with a hybrid work policy allowing up to two days remote.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience building data communication products such as dashboards
• Experience in accessible front-end design using HTML/CSS/JS and modern frameworks
• Strong grasp of user-centered design principles
• Familiarity with public health concepts and data visualization techniques
• Ability to conduct experiments and A/B testing

Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and development of the UDX platform, selecting technologies and architectures
