Job summary

New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene seeks a City Research Scientist to advance population health data science initiatives. The role requires high-level expertise in physical, biological, environmental, or social sciences or public health, with supervisory or research leadership responsibilities.

Candidates may hold a doctorate or a master’s with substantial research experience; substitutions are available for Level I to II progression.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in an appropriate field (physical, biological, environmental, or social science, or public health).
• For Assignment Level II and above: a doctorate or a master's with three years of responsible full-time research experience; or equivalent.
• Two years as City Research Scientist Level I can be substituted for the experience required above.
