Job summary

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment is seeking a Health Professional III to join the Health Facilities and Emergency Medical Services Division in a role focused on survey and compliance of health care facilities.

You will lead nursing observations, conduct medication passes where applicable, and write clear deficiency statements while interpreting state and CMS regulations. Onsite, Colorado residents only.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of relevant experience in applicable health care in a facility or program regulated by HFEMS Division or related area.
• Current, valid licensure as a Registered Nurse (Colorado or eNLC state).
• A combination of related education and work experience may satisfy minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess care, treatment and quality of life through observations, interviews and record review.
• RN serves as the clinical resource for survey team; conduct nursing observations and medication passes.
• Write clear, concise, legally defensible statements of deficiencies based on CMS and state regulations.
• Advise facility administrators/staff on the purpose and reason for regulations and non-compliance areas.
