Job summary

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is seeking a Health Professional III to assess care, treatment, and quality of life in health facilities across Colorado. You will apply statutes, regulations, and CMS guidelines on a case-by-case basis to ensure compliance and survey outcomes.

Responsibilities include performing unannounced inspections, documenting deficiencies, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of relevant health care experience in a facility or program regulated by HFEMSD.
• Experience in healthcare regulatory compliance or surveying.
• Combination of related education and experience may also meet requirements.

Responsibilities

• Determines compliance with statutes/regulations on an unannounced basis, independently or as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Assesses health care facility quality of care, services, and treatment through observations, record reviews, and interviews.
• Collects and documents evidence and survey results.
• Writes clear, concise, legally defensible statements of deficiencies based on analyses of findings and applicable laws and guidelines.
• Attends meetings, serves on task forces or teams, completes projects, and performs other duties as assigned.
