Job summary

The State of Maine seeks a Public Guardianship/Conservatorship Representative to support individuals under guardianship across Sagadahoc, Lincoln, Knox and Waldo counties. Travel required; partial telework with approval.

Responsibilities include advocating for service quality, coordinating with medical and legal teams, and handling financial duties under supervision. Requires a BA/BS in social work or related field and LSW licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Social Welfare or related field with at least 12 courses in behavioral science.
• Must have or be eligible for licensure as Licensed Social Worker (LSW) by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure.

Responsibilities

• Advocate on behalf of individuals subject to public guardianship and/or conservatorship to facilitate their receipt of the highest quality services.
• Promote the health and safety of individuals subject to public guardianship and/or conservatorship.
• Interface with medical, legal, and mental health professionals to coordinate services.
• Fulfill financial duties for individuals including asset management and representative payeeship.
• Maintain communication with probate court regarding guardianship status and court forms.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work/Social Welfare or related field with at least 12 courses in behavioral science

Eligible or licensed as Licensed Social Worker (LSW) per Maine Board
