Job summary

The Department of Health and Human Services in Maine is seeking a Social Worker to advocate for individuals under public guardianship and coordinate multidisciplinary services across Augusta and surrounding counties. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work or related field with 12 behavioral science courses.
• Eligibility for conditional or full LSW licensure with Maine Board.
• 1 year of experience with incapacitated/dependent adults.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for individuals under guardianship to access high‑quality services.
• Promote health and safety for individuals under guardianship.
• Fulfill duties required by statute, rule, and policy.
• Coordinate with medical, legal, and mental health professionals.
• Manage financial duties including asset management and payeeship.
• Maintain court communication and timely forms.
• Provide medical consent and supervisory review as needed.
• Maintain professional relationships with wards and teams.
