Job summary

NewFirst National Bank is seeking a Business Development Officer - Special Deposits to grow public funds and special deposit relationships. You will identify governmental entities and special districts, understand their liquidity needs, and deliver consultative banking solutions.

The role emphasizes proactive business development, strong relationship management, knowledge of the public funds marketplace, and collaboration with internal partners to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of banking/financial services or business development sales.
• Basic knowledge of business banking products and Treasury Management.
• Proven relationship development and sales skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
• Experience developing public funds or governmental deposits preferred.
• Knowledge of ACH, Wires, Positive Pay, RDC, IC/CDARS, and related services.

Responsibilities

• Develop new public funds and special deposit relationships through proactive prospecting and networking.
• Conduct consultative discovery meetings to understand deposit structure and cash flow needs.
• Recommend Treasury Solutions and related products to meet client goals.
• Generate new relationships while growing Treasury Solutions adoption and non-interest income.
• Collaborate with lenders and operations to deliver comprehensive banking solutions.
• Prepare proposals, pricing recommendations, and deposit structure plans for clients.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and manage prospecting, follow-up, and retention activities.
• Transition new relationships to onboarding teams and support implementations.
• Maintain ongoing relationships through regular reviews and identify new opportunities.
