Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation seeks a Driver License Examiner Assistant to help customers through licensing steps with care and professionalism. Greet applicants, verify identity, guide them through forms, and provide accurate information on renewals, REAL ID, and commercial license options.

You will support testing, perform vision screenings, enter data into online systems, and ensure compliance with fee waiver rules and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of experience obtaining, evaluating, and providing information to the public.
• You must meet PA residency requirements and be able to perform essential job functions.
• Must pass criminal history checks including fingerprinting and name-based checks.
• Telework is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and guide them through identification checks, forms, and steps.
• Administer vision screenings and knowledge tests to assess readiness.
• Enter applicant data, test results, and service transactions into online systems.
• Provide information on renewals, REAL ID requirements, and license options.
• Follow fee waiver policies and REAL ID regulations to ensure compliance.
• Observe safety procedures and report concerns as required.
