Job summary

Goosehead Insurance seeks a Corporate Controller to lead our core accounting functions, including general, revenue, and technical accounting, reporting to the VP of Finance. The role owns external reporting, policy framework, and tax, building a scalable, high-performing team in a fast‑growing environment.

The ideal candidate is a CPA with public company experience and a track record of strengthening controls and processes to support accurate financial reporting for a publicly traded company.

Qualifications

• 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience with public company exposure.
• Big 4 public accounting background is required.
• Strong SEC reporting, technical accounting, revenue accounting, and SOX/ICFR experience.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead general, revenue, and technical accounting with accurate records.
• Manage monthly close and improve timeliness and scalability.
• Oversee external reporting as SEC filer; file 10-Q/10-K/8-K and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Set accounting policy framework and monitor new standards.
• Oversee tax accounting and coordination with outside providers.
• Lead external audit relationship and strengthen ICFR with internal audit.
• Configure accounting systems (NetSuite, Workiva) to meet requirements.
• Assess accounting implications of new products, contracts, and revenue models.
• Recruit, coach, and develop a high-performing accounting team.
• Partner with FP&A, Finance Operations, and business leaders on accounting outcomes.
• Present results clearly to non-accounting audiences in cross-functional settings.
