Job summary

GT Independence seeks an experienced Controller to lead the accounting function and ensure CFO-ready financials across the organization. The role demands strong GAAP knowledge, process discipline, and the ability to drive scalable, high‑quality reporting in a multi‑entity environment.

You will partner with CFO, auditors, and PE sponsors, build a capable team, improve controls, and institutionalize a repeatable month‑end close process while guiding strategic finance initiatives for growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including senior leadership roles.
• Strong GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience leading multi-entity close processes.
• Experience building scalable accounting processes.
• Strong audit readiness and external audit experience.
• Private equity / sponsor-owned environment experience preferred.
• Experience with ERP transitions and automation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting leadership and ownership across close, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, AP, cash operations, and reporting.
• Own end-to-end month-end close process with calendar, deadlines, and CFO-ready statements.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity and robust reconciliations.
• Drive audit readiness and strengthen internal controls.
• Identify and implement process improvements for scalability.
• Develop managers and build a resilient accounting team.
• Collaborate with CFO, FP&A, Tax, Operations, IT, and external auditors.
