Job summary

Alamance County Government is seeking a Communications Manager to lead communications, media, and public relations strategies. You will serve as the primary public communications contact, coordinating messaging for department programs and initiatives.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in communications-related field and 3+ years of experience, with strong skills in oral and written communication, analytics, and multimedia content development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Public Administration, or related field and 3+ years in communications, PR, media relations, marketing, or related area.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate communication needs with IT, Emergency Management, Public Health, and county departments.
• Serve as communications point of contact for public health and emergency management.
• Develop messaging for emergency/crisis communications with JIS/JIC/EOC teams.
• Support county campaigns on cybersecurity, preparedness, public health, and resident engagement.
• Manage Alamance County Government website and digital content for accuracy and accessibility.
• Coordinate internal communications about technology initiatives and cybersecurity best practices.
