The Oregon Department of Human Services is seeking an entry Public Benefits Specialist to provide essential front-desk support, handle inquiries, and guide clients to appropriate services. This role emphasizes accuracy in reviewing applications and documents, plus maintaining records in ONE and TRACS systems.

Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset are required, with bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred.

Formación

• Two years of experience in a reception area or high-volume call center providing customer service.
• Associate degree in Behavioral Science or Social Science, plus six months in a busy reception or call center.
• Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Responsabilidades

• Provide front desk help, answer calls, and guide clients to services.
• Distribute mail, handle case transfers, and manage emails.
• Schedule appointments and issue EBT cards and checks.
• Review applications and documentation for completeness and accuracy.
• Document interactions in the ONE and TRACS systems.
• Create a welcoming environment for the public through various communications.
• Maintain an organized workspace and efficient lobby flow.
• Use computer systems and databases to manage information for the agency and clients.
