Qualifications

• The equivalent of an associate degree with specified course hours in interviewing, IT, math, public relations and English or two years of public-contact data work.
• Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Interviews applicants to determine eligibility and processes budget, documentation, and referrals.

Responsibilities

• Interview and assess applicant eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Compute budgets, verify documentation, and determine approvals or denials.
• Explain rights and procedures and refer to other welfare services as needed.
• Prepare case records and notifications; handle appeals and hearings if required.
• Attend necessary training and perform related duties as assigned.
