Job summary

Florida Department of Children & Families seeks an Eligibility Supervisor to lead a unit in the Office of Economically Self-Sufficiency in Fort Lauderdale. The role concentrates on directing staff, guiding eligibility determinations for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance, and ensuring adherence to procedures.

The incumbent must demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and analytic skills to drive performance and compliance with state rules and ADA considerations.

Qualifications

• Two or more years' experience determining eligibility for food stamps, Medicaid, and cash assistance.
• Detailed knowledge of the eligibility processes, procedures, and applicable computer systems used in determining public assistance eligibility.
• Experience supervising staff and directing work assignments.

Responsibilities

• Supervises public assistance eligibility staff and ensures all unit responsibilities are processed accurately, timely and in accordance with rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
• Monitors and reviews case records; uses the case reading process for staff development and learning.
• Resolves issues from internal and external customers; compiles reports and ensures compliance with fiscal and administrative rules.
• Provides necessary training to employees and coordinates policy implementations.
• Conducts monthly performance conferences and develops improvement plans for individuals and the unit.
