Job summary

Boulder County Human Services Department seeks a Long-Term Care Eligibility Technician to determine benefits for Health First Colorado (Medicaid) and SNAP. This full-time, non-exempt role works Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, at 515 Coffman St., Longmont, CO, serving community members with compassion and accuracy.

The position requires a high school diploma and at least two years of public-facing experience; bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school graduation or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of public interaction experience.
• Knowledge of public assistance programs.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and reviews financial and other pertinent information to determine eligibility for public assistance programs.
• Verifies information by direct contact, phone, or home visit.
• Informs applicants of program requirements and benefits for which they may be eligible.
• Clarifies and interprets appeal rights and procedures for clients.
• Assists applicants in completing forms and obtaining needed documents.
• Keeps recipients informed about changes in laws affecting eligibility.
• Decides to approve or deny applications and notifies applicants within required timeframes.
• Enters data into computer systems and uses systems to verify information.
• Assesses need for recovery of funds or referral for fraud investigation.
